Dionisio Garza Medina
Chairman and CEO, ALFA



He was born in1954. In addition to his role at ALFA, he is Chairman of the Board of the Universidad de Monterrey and a board member of Cemex, Vitro and BBVA Bancomer.

Mr. Garza is also a member of the Mexican Council of Businessmen; the Advisory Committee of the David Rockefeller Center of Latin American Studies at Harvard University; the Board of Dean’s advisors at Harvard Business School; the Advisory Council of Stanford’s Engineering School and of the Mexican Center for Government Studies.

Dionisio Garza graduated with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in industrial engineering from Stanford, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.




José de Jesús Valdez Simancas
President Alpek


Born in 1953. Joined ALFA in 1976. Former Chairman of ANIQ (Mexico 's Association of the Chemical Industry) and of CAINTRA (Nuevo Leon State Manufacturing Industry Chamber). Earned a Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering and management and an MBA from Tecnológico de Monterrey, and a Master in industrial engineering from Stanford.


Mario Páez González
President Sigma


Born in 1950. Previously Vice-president of Administration and of Operations at Sigma. Former General Director of Total Home and Titán. Studied public accounting at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, where he also earned an MBA. He also holds an MBA from Tulane University and a Top Management diploma from IPADE. Currently he is Vice-president of the Mexican Agriculture Council, and of the Mexican Meat Council.



Armando Garza Sada
President Versax and Onexa


Former President of Sigma, from 1993 to 1999. He previously held executive positions at Polioles and Selther. Board member of ALFA, Coca - Cola FEMSA, CYDSA, Gigante, Liverpool, Lamosa, ITESM and MVS. Mr. Garza Sada was born in 1957, studied industrial engineering at MIT, and earned an MBA from Stanford University.



Ing. Alfonso González Migoya
Chief Financial Officer


Born in 1945. Prior to joining ALFA in 1995, he served as Corporate Finance Director and Chemicals Division Director of Cydsa. Former Vice-president of Finance and Administration at Bancomer. Board member of COPARMEX, Universidad de Monterrey, Banco Regional de Monterrey and Pronatura. Earned his Bachelor degree in mechanical and electrical engineering at Tecnológico de Monterrey, and an MBA at Stanford University.



 
Angel Casán Marcos
Director of Human Resources and Corporate Affairs



Born in 1955. Studied actuarial science at Universidad Anáhuac. Joined ALFA in 1979. Previously held executive management positions at Indelpro, Teijin Akra and Akra Nylon. Former Vice President of the North American Organizational and Management Council / Conference Board and Board member of the American Fiber Manufacturing Association. Currently Board member and Vice-president of the ANIQ (Mexico’s Association of the Chemical Industry) and President of the Artificial Fibers and Synthetics Division of ANIQ.





Carlos Jiménez Barrera
Senior Legal Counsel

Born in 1955. Earned his Bachelor degree in law at Universidad de Monterrey and a Master of Comparative Law at New York University. Joined ALFA in 1976. Briefly joined an independent law firm, from 1986-1988, and returned to ALFA's legal department in 1988.




Felipe C. Canales Tijerina
Director of Planning and Economics

Born in 1958. He has worked since 1980 in ALFA's steel and corporate divisions. Previously Director of Corporate Planning, from 1993 to 1995, and Corporate Treasurer, from 1996 to 2004. Earned a Bachelor degree in industrial and systems engineering at Tecnológico de Monterrey, and an MBA at the University of Pennsylvania 's Wharton Business School.
